Comforting January

Taking refuge in the inviting warmth of a heritage site on a bitterly cold day: a prospect that appeals to you? The winter season’s exhibitions are waiting to comfort and delight you.

You can visit :

  • January 20 to March 24:

Zoom sur la gravure. A variety of artists at Maison Antoine-Beaudry.

Located in Pointe-aux-Trembles and classified as a historic monument, the Maison Antoine-Beaudry welcomes you this winter with an exhibition designed to introduce you to the art of engraving. Based on works from the Rivière-des-Prairies library collection, Zoom sur la gravure will give you an unusual perspective on the work of renowned Quebec artists.

  • until late spring :
Guido Nincheri, Vierge très prudente, undated, watercolour and graphite on paper, Montreal, Collection Société du Château Dufresne

Nincheri. From Profane to Sacred at Château Dufresne.

This exhibition, presented at the museum and historic heritage site in Montreal’s Maisonneuve district, invites you to take a closer look at the prolific religious work of Guido Nincheri (1885-1973). A native of Italy who trained at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, this virtuoso decorator and stainglass artist helped decorate this early 20th-century bourgeois residence, emblematic of the tastes of the period. The visit is a double pleasure: browsing the rooms of the Château and learning about Nincheri’s work.

Our mountain. Memories of Mount Royal at Musée des Hospitalières.

Designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903), Mount Royal Park has a rich history that extends far beyond our current perception of this Montreal landmark. The exhibition focuses on the major issues that have marked the development and safeguarding of the mountain. Once at the museum, you’ll also have the opportunity to visit its permanent exhibition, which tells the story of the origins of Montreal, of Hôtel-Dieu, and of health care and science through the tangible and intangible heritage of the Hospitalières de Saint-Joseph.
