Pieter Paul Rubens and workshop, Diane Hunting with her Nymphes, c. 1636-37, oil on canvas, Antwerp, Phoebus Foundation
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts presents an exhibition of masterpieces of Flemish art spanning three centuries, from 1400 to 1700. The vast majority of works come from the prestigious Phoebus Foundation collection in Antwerp, complemented by the museum’s own collection. This return to the roots of Flemish art history reminds us of the timelessness of artistic subjects and research.
